Poverty in Nepal is one of the greatest issues. Many people live under the poverty line in Nepal. Lack of education is one of the main reasons for poverty in Nepal. However, I am trying to prove the reverse hypothesis of this statement. Today, I will tell you how higher education is the reason behind poverty in Nepal. There are many levels of education in Nepal. But in Nepal, students who pass different grades are given different levels of recognition. Working in our country can be difficult if one has not passed grade 12. If one is able to get a job without completing grade 12, then also the payment of the job will not be satisfactory. After completing the study of grade 12, there are many students who wish to go abroad. Someone’s dream will be achieved, while someone cannot.
People who move abroad after completing 12th-grade fall under the first category of Nepali. There are many Nepalese who fall under the first category and most of these people are found in Australia. These people may go on a student visa, but the intention is to earn money more than to study. But anyway, by whatever means they first pay off the debt they owe while going abroad then they save money for their future. For about six years, they can earn enough money for future use. After six or seven years of earning, these Nepalese Australians think themselves capable of buying the Nepalese land captured by India in Kalapani and Lipulekh. No matter how much money they make, many people decide not to return to Nepal.
Now let’s talk about the people who decide to stay in Nepal after their 12th grade. Some people will end their academic life. These are the second types of people who have stopped reading. Some of them start working and some even start their own businesses. The one who starts working for others does not want to stay in Nepal after some time. They always get negative thinking that neither they studied nor they went abroad on time and feel disturbed. Eventually, they also head to the Arabian countries. In about six years they return to Nepal with a lot of money. They come to Nepal to build houses, buy bikes, do some business with the money left over. And the one who started their business earlier will obviously get some profit and earn enough for living.
Now there is the third type of people who decide to study in Nepal. The Bachelor study takes 4 years. But for the student who spends all day drinking tea and cigarettes outside their college, they might take more than 4 years to complete their bachelor study. After completing their bachelor’s, they may get the job of salary up to 30 thousand a month. Although they start to earn in Nepal, they cannot save their money. They spend all their money on smoking and gasoline on their bikes. If they choose to complete their master’s degree study, this will take 2 years or more. By the time they complete Masters in 2 years, they may not have money in their hands they will have certificates.
When the third type of Nepalese completes their higher study, the other two types of Nepalese will be rich enough to pass their happy life. After completing your master’s level also, you will face difficulties to get a good job and earn as much as the rest two categories of people. In Nepal, higher education doesn’t give you a good job. However, it may help you to lose your productive time which could have been utilized to earn money. Life is hard when you have no money in your pocket and no job to support own life as well as family. Some people will also go abroad for work after completing their master’s level study. If you again choose to stay in Nepal, then you should pass your entire life in poverty due to a lack of appropriate jobs and satisfactory income.
