Train ticket booking will now be easier than before. Recently Indian Railways ticketing firm Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) upgraded its website and has now started its own payment gateway.
That is, the dependence on the bank’s payment gateway for payment during online ticket booking is over. Now, passengers will get the option to use IRCTC’s payment gateway iPay during ticket booking.
Advantage of IRCTC payment gateway for Online Train Tickets
The advantage of this is that Train ticket buyers will save time spent on payment using the banks’ payment gateway for booking. One of the advantages of this is that passengers will not have to wait any longer if the Train tickets are cancelled.
This is because the refund of the cancelled ticket will be transferred immediately due to having its own payment gateway. This new feature under IRCTC’s iPay for users using IRCTC website or mobile application will reduce the time taken for payment.
At the same time, now bus tickets can also be booked through the IRCTC website. According to the statement issued by IRCTC, the integration of this service on the IRCTC mobile application will be completed in the first week of March.
The operation of Tejas Express, the first corporate train of the country, is going to resume from February 14. The train is going to operate on the Lucknow-New Delhi and Ahmedabad-Mumbai rail routes. Along with this, the e-catering service which was recently closed due to Corona crisis has been resumed at some railway stations.
