“One school one nurse program” has been launched in three local levels of Baitadi with the support of the Far Western Provincial Government. The program has been launched in Melauli Municipality, Sigas village Municipality and Dilashaini village Municipality of the district.
Chief of the Health Office, Baitadi, Yogesh Prasad Bhat informed that the program was implemented by selecting one school at each place where the programme has been launched. Manilake Higher Secondary School in Melauli, Arjun Higher Secondary School in Sigas and Durga Higher Secondary School in Dilashaini are in operation, he said. Manpower management and deployment have been completed so that programme is in operation.

The health office had taken the responsibility of managing and deploying human resource. At least 40 classes will be conducted in the program in one month.
One staff nurse has been assigned to each school. Under the “One School One Nurse program”, the deployed manpower has been imparting information to the students on various aspects of a healthy lifestyle. Some of the aspects included in this programme includes Healthy eating, first aid, domestic violence, sex education and other subjects.
Apart from this, discussions will be held in the classrooms of the school on sanitation, ways to avoid COVID-19, menstrual hygiene and other health-related issues. The programme started in the current Fiscal year will get continuity in the future days too.
