Managing Director of Nepal Telecom Dilliram Adhikari has urged not to buy Indian mobile phones made. Speaking at an interaction program organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology with the parliamentarians of Karnali and Far Western Provinces, the official made the request.
Nepal Telecom is currently expanding the 4G service based on 800 MHz frequency in rural and remote areas. BTS towers based on such frequencies can carry long-distance networks. But mobile phones made in India do not support 800 MHz frequency.
“India does not use 800 MHz frequency for 4G,” said the managing director. In this case, our 4G does not work on Indian mobile phones. ‘
According to the official, there is no such problem with mobile sets made in China, Vietnam, and other countries except India. He further said, “When buying a mobile phone, you have to take care of whether the 800 MHz frequency is supported or not.” The easiest thing is not to buy an Indian mobile phone. ‘
